i was working in a apple center before near jalan ampang for couple of years (they moved). lots of people asked me this question. so basically here is my explanation.

well pc and mac is on diff league.
although both do almost the same thing, and hardware basically the same, what mac really offers is the simplicity of doing certain things, like editing movies, edit photos and all, while pc offers vast choice of hardware combination.

but heres how mac stand out; it "customize" the OS and configuration to a particular set of hardware, especially on logicboard (or main board), graphic and processor combination. each model has its own version of OS base on diff set of combination. result: high level of integration between software and hardware. but at the same time, it sacrifices hardware swapping. u will have some difficulties if u change certain hardware. but newer mac still allows some basic DIY upgrades, depends on models.

while pc on the other hand has got millions of combination, but only 1 version of OS. every manufacturer claims they know the OS best and wrote their own version of firmware, some of them even without concerning of other hardwares. on the OS side, it is not design to run at optimum performance. it just cant fully make use of the hardware, maybe with the correct firm ware.

there are lots of debate going on saying which is best. but the way i see it, it is more like what u need and budget, really. theres no best solution. its just unfair to compare them.

And yes! Due to the technology advancement, what you have today would become obsolete in a few months. In regards to the technology adopted by the world’s 2 top micro processor makers INTEL and AMD, both companies currently adopt the flip chip aka c4 controlled collapse chip connection method, and they had to migrate from the older method known as “wire bonding” due to the miniaturization of the transistors on the die and for economic reasons in manufacturing. The former method is the preferred method for most semiconductor companies at this stage.
Currently, the size of the wafer preferred in the industry is the 12 inch as opposed to the 8 inch since one would simply obtain more number of dies on a 12 inch wafer.
And with the proliferation of MEMS, who knows wats gonna happen in the next few years.
Ultimately, one’s preference would depend on the size of his/her wallet and the most basic needs.

The way the flyer was written encourages the general public(teens especially) to follow the crowd.
What is perceived as cool these days is just basically cool!!! Because the advert says it!!!
And ppl don have a mind of their own!!!!
But then again, if you were given the responsibility of writing up the flyer. Would you not draw critics to your flyer as well for being excessively technical and boring? Or maybe, the company which was hired by apple to produce this flyer should have fired the person who wrote it and you should have her job. I suspect that apple Malaysia has consulted the services of an advertising company in Malaysia to produce the flyer.

With the weakened American dollar, Intel has just set up a fab plant in dalian china to lower cost. Human labour exploitation! Any retrenchment by these so called American giants would be due to George W Bush’s war on terror campaign in Iraq. With KBR as the clean up crew in Iraq, one could only guess that DICK cheney who sits on the board of KBR has sinister intentions. Or for that matter, the American government.
